Classroom Posters (birds and animals)

These posters are a sample of the large inventory of classroom posters available to the Cree Language and Culture Program. These posters feature Woodland Cree and pictures of animal tracks and birds commonly found in Little Red River.

In these resources, Elders Gordon D’Or, Louis Moberly, and Alexis D’Or share stories about moose, bears, and buffalo. Learners observe the animals’ behaviours in different seasons and learn about what they look like, where they live, and how to be safe around them.

In these resources, Knowledge Keepers Archie Ribbonleg and Jimmy Tallcree share their knowledge of fur-bearing animals in the weasel family. Learners name and identify the animals and learn about their habitat, food sources, tracks, and behaviours.
